Some people say it’s important not to let what you do define who you are.
I’m not one of those people.
Making things and putting them out into the world is who I am. Always has been. Always will be.
Over the last twenty-something years in advertising, I’ve worked on a little bit of everything. Mascara and jet planes. Donuts and beer. Cars and clothes. Lottery tickets and health insurance. Bras and burgers. Shampoo and shapewear.
I’ve crafted words and creative for brand books, TV spots, OOH, websites, eCommerce, manifestos, social campaigns, experiential, and pretty much everything in between.
I’ve worked agency-side, client-side, and production-side, and I’ve led creative teams and projects through strategy, concept development, production, and post-production. Seeing the work from all those angles has given me a pretty well-stocked creative toolbox—and the ability to flex between the big, goosebump-worthy idea and the down-and-dirty, response-driving work that gets people to actually do something.
In other words, I like making things. I like solving problems. I like inspiring my team to making the best work they can. And I’m equally happy dreaming up the big idea, getting into the weeds, or figuring out how to make the impossible actually happen.
So, as I navigate down this winding path called life, certain things make me smile and keep me sane. Like spending time with my son. Making lists—every kind of list. To-do lists, grocery lists, bucket lists. Rosé (sometimes all day). Farmers’ markets. Dunking my head in the ocean. Painting things. Good and very bad TV. Making hats and flower crowns. And, lastly, jogging to and from my problems.
In a nutshell, that’s me: a creative human, a mom to a red-headed wild child, two dogs, and one feisty fish.
I hope our paths cross somewhere along the way so we can make some things.
